Last night on ABC News with Charlie Gibson they did a piece on Twitter.com. It was a pretty good piece but did they get it all wrong? They marketed the whole twitter service as a customer service platform. Yes it can be used as that since there are some companies that are responding to customer problems but I don’t think that 2% of the poople at using it that way. You can check out the online video of the piece here. It looks like ABC news doesn’t allow you to embed the video yet, sorry. What do you think about the clip?

I have a news website (swfl-news.com) that caters to Southwest Florida and I was missing out on the mobile market. This week I started to look at how to create a basic but functional iPhone Web App. Here are two sites that I thought I would share for people looking to get started.

iPhone Web UI

iPhone Tester

I will post my iPhone app when it is completed later this week.

These are usually the people standing and waving outside the windows holding signs for there web sites or businesses. On the Today show, and Fox and Friends you are more likely to see this since some of there shots are outside or you can see out side through the set. This is a brilliant form of advertising. Guerilla Marketing if that’s what you want to call it, gets the message out to millions of people and does it for free. Today PayPerPost.com people where advertising there site in the background. I wonder how many hits a site actually gets after being spotted in the background of network news show. I could use some of this advertisement for kapustabrothers.

I usually go to the site everyday at least once and enjoy seeing the red background. However, today when I went to the site I thought the (CSS) style sheet did not load. The site looks like it’s broke. The white background and the different shades of blue are nice, but the layout and placement of the stories make the site look like my bedroom (clothes all over the place). I think that Fox should return to there old style or redo the layout! Anyone with me on this?

Today’s choice of news is sort of disturbing. Last night some of the 24 hour news stations and online media where carrying breaking news concerning Iran. It looks like the Iranian leader, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has or is in the processes of planning a trip the NYC to meet with the United Nations. However, reports are saying that he may first travel to Cuba and meet with Castro and Hugo Chavez then make his way to the USA through Cuba. Having two of the most controversial leaders in the country at the same time (in NYC) while they both have stated there dislike to the US and have wished dreadful acts upon could be very dangerous. There are many implications of this and only one can imagine what would happen or will happen. God just imagine what NYC will be like on that day they arrive and depart.

So after a quick look at some major news sites I have realized this isn’t really an significant story. Let me take you through a run down of what each is reporting;

CNN – Located in there top stories section on there main page nothing about Iran. Although big story on CNN is about Paris Hilton charged with DUI

Washington Post – Front page has nothing dealing with Iran. A story that jumps out to me as a possible top story candidate Facebook’s Privacy Issue’s

Americas BBC – No story on the front page. BBC does have a lot of political and world news concerning America on its front pages. Saw nothing about Paris Hilton, Baby Suri, or Facebook

Fox News – Nothing dealing with Ahmadinejad trip to the US, but there is a story entitled Stall Tactics

Drudge Report – Main story

Sometimes I find it quite amazing on the selection of news to be broadcast. Is Baby Suri, Paris Hilton getting charged with a DUI, and the Facebook adding News Feeds important to viewers? I guess the Paris one is. The way this story should be slanted is that another star gets special treatment after driving while intoxicated. I find it very frustrating that in the morning I have to go out and do my own research to find what is really important to America. What do you think?
