Gone, Not To Far, Now Back

Wow it’s been busy.  Work has been taking most of my life since my last post and probably will continue till December 1st.  I have been trying not to let it take over so I haven’t been doing any work on the weekends.  This Saturday Jen and I are going up to Tampa to see the Buffalo Sabres Vs. Tampa Bay Lighting Hockey Game.  I am really excited; I haven’t been to a NHL game in about 2 years.

It’s the end of October and our first cold front has pushed through Southwest Florida.  It has been in the 90’s and humid every day and when the temp and humidity drops, even if it’s just to 80 you feel it.  Fortunately today when I left for work the temperature was 66.  Last night we were able to have dinner on the lanai and it was comfortable.

NHL Center Ice has taken over my TV life.  This is pretty much all that I like to do at night time.  Throw on a game and work on the computer.  The best part is that I have seen all the Buffalo Sabres Games so far, though 3-5 isn’t anything to brag about.  14 channels of hockey probably was the best $149.00 I spent (at least on TV programming).

I have ordered my new TV!  It’s a Sony (go figure) 50’ SXRD Rear Projection (Model: KDS-50A3000).  This is going to make watching TV so much better.  Jen thinks it’s to big but I guarantee she will love it.  I can’t wait to see the Wink News cast in high def and Hockey.  I sense more TV watching coming on.

Hockey is Here

The hockey season has finally come. It all starts with today’s game in London, which in Florida will be aired tomorrow on Versus. Yesterday I called and tried to get NHL Center Ice through Comcast but was only sort not successful. They did have the code to enter into the system and they told me the price, $149.00 for the season, but when the agent tried to add the code into my system the computers kept telling them that I didn’t have a cable box. We’ll try again today. Now all I need is my TV (KDS50A3000).

Shaved on Ice

Syr CrunchIt’s kind of like stars on ice but with shaved heads. The Syracuse Crunch, an AHL Hockey team has invited Britney Spears to one of there games next week. What a deal for Brit. She can go to Snowy Central New York and, “there won’t be paparazzi within a 100 miles.” The Crunch will put her up on an all expense paid getaway to Syracuse, NY and if she takes the deal everyone in the front office for the Crunch will shave their heads so she doesn’t feel left out. The best part is that if you shave your head you can get in to the game free too!

Press Release1, Press Release 2

Oh Canada!

CanadaWhat’s that Hockey Canada saying? “Relax, it’s just a game.” I don’t think so. Not this time. This result is an epic disaster.

It is a colossal failure. Any time a group of athletes like this have a maple leaf on their sweater and they go into an Olympic tournament and get knocked out in the quarter finals, get shut out on three occasions, and had 37 minutes of power plays during which they failed to score in those three shutout losses, that is an epic disaster. – Bob McKenzie
