I don’t normally do this but I would like everyone to be aware of this merchant, MyPartyShirt.com. Last month I ordered two shirts from mypartyshirt.com for $29.90 and $7.00 USPS shipping, with a total cost of $36.90. These shirts where ordered on November 7^th 2007 and as of today I still haven’t received my shirts. The shirts were supposed to be Christmas presents and anyone in there right mind would have thought that placing an order on November 7^th would be plenty of time to get them delivered before the holiday, since they will have to be shipped again. I thought wrong. My first contact with mypartyshirt.com was on November 20^th

ME:I ordered shirts on 7 Nov 2007 – 19:21 and was wondering when these items would be shipped? I haven’t received any mails saying these items were shipped however, my Credit Card has been charged. Please provide me a status ASAP. Order ID : xxxxxx

A couple days after this inquiry I decided to contact the company again.

ME: I ordered shirts on 7 Nov 2007, could I have the tracking number for my order, also when was it shipped out…Thank you. Order ID : xxxxxx
MY PARTY SHIRT: Your order is currently en route and will be arriving to you very shortly. Thank you for your patience.

Obviously I knew I would get the same response. I started to think that I was in a scam that every news outlet talks about when in the holiday shopping season. The next few emails transpired with mypartyshirt.com

ME: You didn’t answer my question…What’s my tracking number?
MY PARTY SHIRT: Tracking is not provided by the USPS for first class packages, sorry.

ME: Please provide the day the item was shipped. I have contact the USPS and they told me that for NY to FL the item should already be here by now.

This last email transpired on November 28^th 21 days after I had placed my order. I then placed a call to MyPartyShirt.com using the phone number that was listed on my credit card statement (516-728-1480 NY). All that I could get was a T-Mobile voice mail. Till today I was not sure of many companies that ran there main contact number off of a T-Mobile cell phone. I decided to contact my credit card company and file a fraud charge. I since have been gotten my money back however, no shirts.

Yesterday I did a quick search of the internet to see if anyone else has had problems with this so called company. I found the following site that has a few comments about shipping disputes. There are many reviews of this company that pretty much say the same thing. For anyone thinking of buying anything from this company steer clear. They are not reliable and do not care about customer service. I will be in contact with the Better Business Bureau in Long Island, NY to file a complaint in the coming days.

Here are some of the sites that I found about the goof that runs this company.

Update: I did run into one small problem. The Google Sitemaps Plugin currently does not work with Wordpress 2.3 due to the fact that some the the category tables have been removed from the database schema. Does anyone know if there is a new version or will be a new version of this plugin?

My email account hemidragster@gmail.com has been recently hacked. I no
longer have access to it.

After having realized that, I googled that same email and came up with 2
results. One was pointed to the genericgeek.com site and the other one to
the following article on your website:

Turns out that contrary to what you tell people in that article, those gmail
accounts CAN BE HACKED. I know because it has happened to me 3 times
already.

This person that claims to be me and uses the email cuda71pe@yahoo.com is my
offender. He is using that email to try to get access to my other emails
claiming to have lost the passwrods to them. This is a lie. That person is
not me…he just hacked my email quite a while ago and he is now using it to
try to break into my other current email accounts.

I no longer have access to that cuda71pe@yahoo.com email account. I lost
access to that one over 3 years ago…I thought it was due to some kind of
error at the yahoo server, but after reading your article, I have realized
somebody is still making use of it…and that same person wanted to hack my
hemidragster@gmail email as well, which he did just a few days ago. Needless
to say, I lost access to that email. And all of my VALUABLE business

information. This person is doing a GREAT HARM TO ME.

Now I’m emailing you from the only email I have access to at the moment,
which my offender is also trying to hack, as you can tell from the post he
made at the genericgeek.com website.

From what I read on your article this person did send you a Pay Pal payment
via email. I WOULD BE VERY GREATFUL if you could tell me from what person or
email did this payment come from. This would help me track down the person
who is doing me this great harm over and over again. I am tired of this and
would like to put an end to it.

I live in Lima, Peru…and based on what I read this person who is hacking
my emails must also live in Lima, Peru since he said that he doesnt have
access to Pay Pal. Pay Pal is still not available in Peru. Thats why he said
he could make a friend send you the Pay Pal payment. Im thinking it may be a
relative of his or a friend living in the USA. It would be very easy for me
to find out who this scumbag is once I have id’ed that Pay Pal identity,
email or name for the email your got the $40 payment from.

Thanks and please help me out here. If you can give you your phone number it
would be great so we can talk a bit more abut it if there is more you need
to know. I think this would make for a great article on your website.

This one is sorta different from other scams because most scammers do not use that same language as the company would. For instance, most banks including Bank of America (BOA) always say that they will never ask for your pin number nor should you give it to them. In this case the scammer includes that exact wordage in his email.

Here are some tips so you don’t get bitten by the bullet;

1. Look at the From email address that you received. Does it look bogus? Look at the text after the @ symbol. However, scammers are now able to mask the email address the letter is sent from.
2. If it looks fake or your feel something odd about it then don’t do it. Most companies will contact you by postal mail if they need information.
3. If the site requires you to log in to see your account, then everything you do to your account should be when you are logged in. Example – BOA requires a log in to access account information. You are not able to change your address or phone number with BOA unless you are logged into your account.
4. Look at the address bar of your browser. All sites will be “something.com ” if the address is an IP address (###.###.###.###) then its a fake. They use the IP address because they are unable to us bankofamerica.com. To check where the IP address is registered to click here and place the IP address into the text box at the top and click the “Search Whois” button. This will tell you where the IP address is registered to and maybe who. (This scam is out of Amsterdam)
5. Your browser should prompt you! If your browser does not warn you that this site may be bogus then get a new browser. In Firefox 2.0 they pop up a message. Click on the thumbnails to see!

6. Lastly use common sense. People practicing bad common sense will get bit by the bullet.

FYI – Internet Explorer’s Phishing Filter did not pick up this site. However, it looks like there filter is based on sites that are submitted to Microsoft. So if the site has not been submitted then it will most likely not show up. If a site is phishing for your data then a pop up message warning you about its content will appear.

That’s just one gullible person. Are people really this stupid? Sometimes I wonder. Domingo is very luck that I am a nice person. I could have easily taken his $40.00, that is still sitting in my paypal account, but I have decided not to and do the right thing by just giving out his email address so all of you can send him comments on his stupidity. UPDATE: I was surprised to find that under the Content Management Systems (CMS) section I did not find Wordpress.  I think this is one of the best free (open source) CMS packages out there.  Wordpress.org allows you to install it on your system or you can go to wordpress.com which is hosted and free!
