Florida Gets Cheaper Prescription Drugs

A month ago or so I posted about the Tampa Bay, Florida Wal-Mart’s had started offering $4.00 prescription generic drugs. At the time many residents said that they would travel to the Tampa area to get the discounted price. Well they don’t have to and you won’t have to go to Wal-Mart either if you choose. Yesterday Wal-Mart announced that they will be extending their prescription generic drug program to all Wal-Mart’s in the state of Florida. They have also added to the list of drugs that you can buy increasing it to 314. For some of the better news, Target in order to keep some of their market share has extended there match program too! Hopefully more of these moves will happen on the forefront making prescription drugs cheaper for all. This is a good step in the right direction for healthcare and the government had nothing to do with it!

Oh yeah this all goes into effect Tomorrow Oct 6th, 2006!

NBC’s Speculation Now Comes in an Interview

NBCNBC-2.com in Fort Myers has just posted a three part video of an exclusive interview with Coralrose Fullwood’s father Dale. This is just days after an NBC2 report David Sutta speculated about the Fullwood’s in his NBC Crime investigators blog. If I was Dale I would have nothing to do with NBC or the media. Speculation in the media is very unprofessional because it causes more problems and half the time what is speculated is not even vastly true. Watch the interview and see what you think. I have my ideas but for now they are just my thoughts. This is a good interview.

Walmart, Now Target to Offer Cheap Drugs

PillsUPDATE: View a list of drugs offered under Walmart for $4.00

Wal-Mart in the Tampa Bay area is now offering Generic Prescription drugs for $4.00 for a 30 day supply. This is incredible! Now Target, also in the Tampa Bay area is going to match Wal-Mart’s Deal. This is also good! However, why now? Are Wal-Mart and Target going to be losing money on there generic drugs. Think about this. Up until this week these same generic drugs didn’t cost $4.00 for a 30 day supply. This can only make me understand why people have been buying there meds from other countries. It was cheaper and still is! How much was Wal-Mart really profiting off of there pharmacy since this announcement? I have heard on the news that some people here in Fort Myers, FL will travel the 2 hours to Tampa Bay area to get there medication. Though, I would ask if these generic drugs are coming form the same sources as before. It seams odd that they can offer a 30 day supply at $4.00 when they where charging more just weeks ago. What do you think?
