So this Seven things chain has been going around the web lately and I have finally been tagged. I was tagged by the Joomla! god who keeps all those planes in the air with his sophisticated software algorithms.

Seven things about me you may or may not know;

I used to swim competitively – I swam competitively for about 13 or 14 years. YMCA swim team (Auburn Stingrays), 4yrs of High School (Auburn High School), and 1 yr of College (SUNY Morrisville). I was a distance swimmer. I once was ranked 18th in Section III (NYS) in the 500 freestyle (20 laps). Our High school team was ranked in the top 5 in New York State. My freshmen year we where ranked 1st.

I am/was a Band Geek – I did high school marking band for 5 years (Maroon Vanguard) and 2 years of Drum Corps (Junior Corps DCI Rochester Patriots).

I hate watching fake TV, I prefer documentaries or non-fiction stories – Really I love discovery channel and the science channel or TLC. Anything that’s real. “How They Do That”, “Dirty Jobs”, and reality TV are my favorites.

I am the only one in DC that voted for John McCain – Something like 93% of DC voted for Barack Obama. I guess they will see they were wrong sooner or later

I didn’t understand Object Oriented Programing (OOP) until my first job – It’s true! I understand it now though!

I wear a suit to work everyday and I am a PHP Developer - Don’t you? I work at the Library of Congress. It looks more professional and people take me more serious. I did a little unprofessional study by myself and now i will wear a suit or tie to work everyday including Friday’s. No JEANS ever!

I grew up in Auburn, New York. Home of the electric chair, Harriet Tubman, William Seward – dude he purchased Alaska home of Sarah Palin, Theodore Case – he put sound to video a thing now called movies, and many more. Oh yea, Auburn also has some of the only original Tiffany glass left in the world.

I guess that’s it. Now it’s time to tag 7 more people. Here they are,

Jill Spaeth – College Roommate at Rochester Institute of Technology (@innerspaeth)

Justin Thorp – Keith already tagged him but he lives two doors down so I can bug him to get it done. (@thorpus)

Wes – My favorite bud in Florida. I worked with him at SONY. You all know how much I hate Florida but I love my Wes. (@theonlyub)

John Croston – if you are a geek in DC you know him! (@jfcIII)

Andrew Wirtanen – My liberal friend from RIT. (@awirtanen)

Antoine Butler – Simple just a Rock Star. (@aebsr)

I’m going out on a limb and going to pick a the smartest business guy on the web – Jason Calacanis (@JasonCalacanis)

The rules:
1. Link your original tagger(s), and list these rules on your blog.
2. Share seven facts about yourself in the post – some random, some weird.
3. Tag seven people at the end of your post by leaving their names and the links to their blogs.
4. Let them know they’ve been tagged by leaving a comment on their blogs and/or Twitter.

UPDATE: Mike’s Blog has been deleted! His blog states the following:

ERROR: Journal has been deleted. If you are yksfoctur, you have a period of 30 days to decide to undelete your journal.

I don’t normally do this but I would like everyone to be aware of this merchant, MyPartyShirt.com. Last month I ordered two shirts from mypartyshirt.com for $29.90 and $7.00 USPS shipping, with a total cost of $36.90. These shirts where ordered on November 7th 2007 and as of today I still haven’t received my shirts. The shirts were supposed to be Christmas presents and anyone in there right mind would have thought that placing an order on November 7th would be plenty of time to get them delivered before the holiday, since they will have to be shipped again. I thought wrong. My first contact with mypartyshirt.com was on November 20th

ME:I ordered shirts on 7 Nov 2007 – 19:21 and was wondering when these items would be shipped? I haven’t received any mails saying these items were shipped however, my Credit Card has been charged. Please provide me a status ASAP. Order ID : xxxxxx
MY PARTY SHIRT: Your order is currently en route and will be arriving to you shortly. Please carefully review our shipping policy for further information regarding your inquiry, thank you

A couple days after this inquiry I decided to contact the company again.

ME: I ordered shirts on 7 Nov 2007, could I have the tracking number for my order, also when was it shipped out…Thank you. Order ID : xxxxxx
MY PARTY SHIRT: Your order is currently en route and will be arriving to you very shortly. Thank you for your patience.

Obviously I knew I would get the same response. I started to think that I was in a scam that every news outlet talks about when in the holiday shopping season. The next few emails transpired with mypartyshirt.com

ME: You didn’t answer my question…What’s my tracking number?
MY PARTY SHIRT: Tracking is not provided by the USPS for first class packages, sorry.

ME: Please provide the day the item was shipped. I have contact the USPS and they told me that for NY to FL the item should already be here by now.

This last email transpired on November 28th 21 days after I had placed my order. I then placed a call to MyPartyShirt.com using the phone number that was listed on my credit card statement (516-728-1480 NY). All that I could get was a T-Mobile voice mail. Till today I was not sure of many companies that ran there main contact number off of a T-Mobile cell phone. I decided to contact my credit card company and file a fraud charge. I since have been gotten my money back however, no shirts.

Yesterday I did a quick search of the internet to see if anyone else has had problems with this so called company. I found the following site that has a few comments about shipping disputes. There are many reviews of this company that pretty much say the same thing. For anyone thinking of buying anything from this company steer clear. They are not reliable and do not care about customer service. I will be in contact with the Better Business Bureau in Long Island, NY to file a complaint in the coming days.

Here are some of the sites that I found about the goof that runs this company.

Name: Michael Rutcofsky

Interview with owner of MyPartyShirt.com

Blog - Not very professional. You will see why his business is so bad with customer service.

I will keep every updated on the progress of this order.

CONTINUE TO THE UPDATE =>

We have purchased a Hamilton Beach Intrigue Blue Blender, and it’s awesome. Our blender straight from the HSN warehouse (with a discount of course) arrived at our condo yesterday. The color is awesome and it’s really nice. Lots of room to mix lots of drinks, in fact its 48oz Glass Jar, with stainless steel ice crushing blades, comes with a two speed dial and pulse knob. It’s fantastic. Last night we made our first drink, a Pina Colada. We used the recipe of 2 parts coconut rum, 1 can of pineapple juice (click link for can size), 2 parts coconut milk, and ice. We have been searching for some good recipes and I think I have found some on the Hamilton beach website. If you know of any good ones please comment. For now it’s drink time!

Happy Thanksgiving to all. I know it is a little late, in fact just one day late. Hope all is well for everyone out there. Much happened at the Farrell house this week/weekend. The whole family came in on Thursday, Mom and Dad, Nick, and Brian, Allison and the new addition to the Farrell family Davis. Thursday I went over to Jen’s house to have Thanksgiving dinner with her family and then later that night we both went over to my uncle’s house for a large dinner, desserts, and photo sessions. It was family picture time since everyone was in under one roof. That doesn’t happen much anymore. Those pictures will come as soon as I can get a place to download and post them. Today is Black Friday and I think I’m just going to sit around and maybe do some computer stuff. I have not been feeling that great the past couple of days so I need to just rest up so I’m at the top of my game for work on Monday. Not sure how this cold got me, but a part of it may have been caused by the cold and snowy weather that has arrived in good old Central New York. Other than that its been a full weekend, full of good food and UNO.

12:01A.M. and I was just getting home from my slow pitch softball game. Now its 8:20ish the next day and I have been at work for just over 1 hour. Let me tell you, I am one tired person. Last night I went to the bar for about one hour, just before our game which started at 10:15P.M. The game started on time but we dragged it out with lots of runs and stranded base runners. It was a pretty good game even though we lost. During the day I was told that I might have to pitch but when it was game time I was to be found in center field. Nothing was hit to me except for some grounders. Had one god hit to third and one Strike out but didn’t score on any hits. Looks like I’ll be buying the first pitcher of beer next game for going down swinging.

This weekend I am going to head home to do some landscape work with my father and celebrate his birthday. I know that both my brothers want to see my new car so I might have to do some driving this weekend. Next week maybe…I can make it to Ikea with Brian and Allison, but that’s a big maybe. However before any of that can be done, Today is Laundry Day!
