Update: My Party was Crashed!

READ MY FIRST POST ABOUT “mypartyshirt.com”

Well I have finally received my shirts after another exchange of emails. They finally came USPS and what I found may interest you.

ME: Hello, Please provide the day the item was shipped. I have contacted the e Better Business Bureau in Long Island, NY and my Credit Card company and field a fraud charge. Since my order it has been 1 month I deserve to know where my order is. Please provide me information!! With this email I added mike@mypartyshirt.com. This seems to be the email to the owner

MY PARTY SHIRT: We are not responsible due to USPS delay. Your item shipped on the 14th. Status: Arrival at Unit
Your item arrived at 8:04 AM on December 1, 2007 in FORT MYERS, FL 33907. Please review our shipping policy.

So I thought about it for a bit. If they gave me this information then they must have a tracking number. In the previous email I was lied to. They told me that my item was shipped a way that didn’t have a tracking number. So I proceded to follow up to this with another email

ME: Please provide the tracking number.

MY PARTY SHIRT: [They simple sent me my tracking number]

So after I got the tracking number I went to look to see if the item really shipped on the 14th like they told me. This was also another lie. Here is what I found;

When My order came in it took Mypartyshirt.com 7 days to print the label through USPS and tell them they had an order.
Electronic Shipping Info Received, November 14, 2007

15 Days later MyPartyShirt.com decided to deliver my items to the Post Office for mailing. My order never shipped on the 14th it actually shipped on the 29th

Processed, November 29, 2007, 8:18 pm, MELVILLE, NY
Processed, November 29, 2007, 8:18 pm, MELVILLE, NY

Arrival at Unit, December 01, 2007, 8:04 am, FORT MYERS, FL 33913
Delivered, December 01, 2007, 11:30 am, FORT MYERS, FL 33913

So all in all they lied to a customer twice. Then low and behold they try to blame USPS. A couple days later they sent me an email and tried to applogize for what happened.

MY PARTY SHIRT: We just wanted to check in to make sure your received your items. We would like to apologize for the delay in shipment caused by our shipment carrier. Please realize this is not a reflection on this company and rather a fluke incident. After this mishap we are looking into switching carriers. Please accept this coupon code for free shipping off any future orders with us: “mpsshipfree“. Let us know if you have any further questions or concerns that we can help you with.

Simple ridiculous. Apology not accepted. I still believe this company is very mismanaged and I give them a D for customer service. You should Never Lie to Your Customers!

So has anyone else had any problems with this company?

  1. I have had nothing but great experiences with this company. I am a repeat customer who loves what they sell and how they get it to me. Your situation sounds uncharacteristic of this company. My friends all adore them as well.

  2. Stephen, you and your friends must be the only ones. I have read and heard many customers complaining for the same thing that I had to deal with. The previous post (part1) there is a comment where a person has been waiting since Oct 16th with 2 day shipping!

  3. Stephen,
This is the EXACT same experience I had with this awful company. The shirts I ordered back in the middle of October finally arrived 2 days ago. I did the same research you did and found that he ‘printed the shipping label’ in October, but did not mail the package (which was incorrect in itself) until Dec. 3rd. I am refusing to pay for the shirts and I am planning on fighting all charges that Mike’s “Policy” has. For your future information, Mike’s full name is “Mike Rutcofsky”, he lives in Plainview, NY. If you want to read other experience’s similar to ours, check out http://www.tshirtreview.com/?p=155 for more bad expereiences.

  4. As a I fellow online small business owner I deal with USPS for all my shipment needs. I will tell you they are unreliable with keeping track of shipments online as well as with keeping alerts on delayed shipments. Most importantly in this case you need to realize that the person shipping out the package cannot date an item in October and have it shipped in december. If the item is dated in October that is when the item shipped out. The USPS is not allowed to accept packages whose labels are dated more than 48 hours from the date of shipment. Just giving a heads up because I have had customers complain about the same thing, this is a clear case of USPS delay. Hope this helps.

  5. Um, if USPS is so “unreliable” maybe you and Mike should rethink the way you ship to your customers. In our situation, the only thing unreliable was mypartyshirt.com. We have everything documented on paper. The USPS was notified a package was going to be shipped on October 16th but the package was not actually brought to the post office until December 3rd. It then took 3 days to get to us. This has NOTHING to do with the USPS and everything to do with the company.

  6. dude this site is the shit i will continue to shop with them cuz they have been nothing but great to me and all my friends.

  7. Quite frankly, Mike Rutcofsky is a piece of shit. He is the sole proprietor and only employee of MyPartyShirt.com, and I am currently having problems with this jerkoff. He IGNORED my emails, he lied to me countless times, and he lied about shipping the package. He still hasn’t returned my money, he refused me service after I confronted him, and I am currently suing him for fraud. Here are a few facts about this guy, in case you they help.

    Name: Michael Rutcofsky
    Born: July 10, 1986
    Height: 5’10″
    Weight: 175 lbs.
Residence Nassau County, NY. Resides in the Plainsville, NY area.

  8. @ Kristen – I have received my shirts.

As you probably can see there are a couple other folks that are having the same problem.

  9. I have had a particularly bad experience with this guy. I used to get him to respond to my emails through myspace.com but now I cannot even do that. I did some investigating of my own and found him and his home number in the public records of the white pages.com His full name is Michael Rutcofsky and his home address is 24 Frederick Drive, Plainview, New York. The only way I could actually get him to respond was to contact him at his home phone number. If you need to locate him go to whitepages.com and put in Michael Rutcofsky and Plainview NY and find his home number for yourself. He told me that if I called him at his home number he would turn me in to the authorities and has cut off all communication with me. He did give me his work phone number but because his home number is available to anyone who wishes to check it out that may be the only way you can get him to respond. I have been more than patient and all I have asked for his my tracking number to be sure that these items (10 shirts were ordered) but of course now that he has the money I can’t get any satisfaction to my inquiries.

He emailed me this — Our business phone # is 516-874-6525 all you had to do was ask for this number.– which is not true…he would not give me his work number until I called his home.

If any of you get any kind of satisfaction from Michael Rutcofsky, please let me know

  10. Why is this guy sabotaging his own business? I ordered some tshirts for a few kids for Christmas, a week before Christmas. When they didn’t come, and I couldn’t find a phone #, I replied to the confirmation email and heard nothing. Emailed a second time to general contact, they said the shirts were going to be shipped shortly…that was 2 weeks ago. Clearly, I needed a more aggressive approach. Googled “mypartyshirt phone number” and learned I was not alone in my experience. This thread’s given me good info–thanks. Good customer service is so key to an online business! I wonder if this guy realizes the reputation his company has earned.

Hearing a voice over the phone creates an urgency that words on a screen just don’t have. Mr. Rutcofsky probably knows that on some level. I guess you have to be wary of any business–regular and online–without easy to access phone contact!

  12. To everyone out there who is looking for a refund from this jackass: I never received my 10 shirts that I had ordered in mid-October. Mike wouldn’t give me a phone number (apparently he couldn’t do this because of “legal reasons”), he wouldn’t give me a tracking number (only shipments shipped 1 day have tracking numbers), and he wouldn’t give me a refund (this would violate his ‘policy’). He never shipped the shirts and I still had a charge of $150 on my credit card. I contacted my credit card and gave them all this information. After 30 days, I had my money back from my credit card company. They charged the asshole back and I had a 100% refund. This guy is a complete prick and I wish I had never, ever, ever ordered anything from his bogus company. He is nothing but a scam artist. Contact your credit card company, contact the BBB, and get your money back. Keep calling his house and his work phone if you have to. Make him realize that he can’t ignore his customers.

  13. We have had this same issues all of you have discussed. We ordered our shirts for Halloween costumes and received them one month and one week after we had ordered them. We also looked into tracking information and saw that they were not shipped until ONE WEEK after they were ordered, when the website says we should have RECEIVED them within one wek. We have contacted the Better Business Bureau and notified them we contacted them. Of course, no response was received. We then sent the shirts back the beginning of December hoping for a response, and we emailed them letting them know this. We have yet to receive our refund and we are planning on traveling from Pennsylvania to New York to sue them for travel/hotel charges, our purchase charges, and other fees or expenses that might come along.

I’m happy we’re not the only ones having this problem.

  14. I agree with all the people bashing this company… and for all of you people writing good things about this company, I have facebooked you and its funny that you are from nassau county… the same county this company is in….

it must be SUCH a small world. NOT.

  15. This is Michael from MyPartyShirt.com

During the period of September through this past new year, we received an overwhelming number of orders, way beyond our expectations. During this time the customer service team, the order fulfillment team and myself came up way short in fulfilling the needs of our customers. For this I sincerely apologize. Simply put, we messed up on our end. I would like the chance to make this right for all of you. I encourage any customer who received unsatisfactory service during this time to contact me so that I can personally rectify the situation.

You can reach me at: michael@mypartyshirt.com

  16. Breanne, Jenn, John, and 4 other customers-let me know how you do. I am in the same boat as you. I sent the shirts back after not getting returned emails back, and now he has my money and the shirts-and every correspondence with him is awful. He is the most arrogant person I have ever dealt with. He is insulting in his email, and the only way for his to run his business, is to rip-off his customers. He should spend more time working on his business and the problems with it, then fighting with his customers. I have never in my life, had a worse experience. I would recommend no one ever buying t-shirts from this guy, he is not reputable at all.

  17. I’ve known Mike Rutcofsky since high school and he’s always been a prick. don’t know anything about his shirt site but i can say for sure that he’s not a reputable guy and he’s conned his way through every sort of relationship (personal, friendship, whatever) he’s ever had. he’s a douche
