Apple fans are very dedicated. First off I should state for the record that I don’t have any Apple products. Not even an iPod however, I am looking to buy a MacBook Pro. The problem is that I just have a hard time putting up all that money for a computer. Anyways back to the point of this post. Last Saturday Doug and I went to the Apple store grand opening at Coconut Point. While there I took a couple of pictures and when I got home I wrote a post and posted the photos on my flickr site. Since Saturday these 5 or so pictures are in my top viewed photos and I have had like 5 or 6 emails asking if I had anymore. Ok so what’s your point Shaun? Well my point is Apple geeks, nerds, followers, fan boys, whatever you want to call them take I guess you could call it pride in what they use. I mean think about this, if I went to a opening of a new Bose store would there be people just out surfing around looking for Bose store photos or the recent grand opening? I highly doubt it. Actually it’s kind of cool and I would have to give props to Apple’s marketing department. This has to be one of the best in the industry. So my question to you is, “Are you an apple fanboy and why?” Tell me something good that will make my buy Apple?
A couple of comments on this.
Firstly I think that Coconut Point is the first of the so-called V2.0 stores to open so your Flicker visits may have been based on this – (I could be wrong here).
Then there are the T-Shirts. But I suspect that only the first 10 – 20 people were there to actually get the T-Shirts. Apple has a limited edition of 1000 Ts per opening. The real fans queue for these.
Then I think maybe there is a thing that if people are in a queue they will attract others to join a queue…
I’m not going to try and convince you to buy a Mac. If you want a Mac you’ll get one. If you don’t want one you’ll make a thousand excuses to NOT buy one. When the time is ready… you’ll get a Mac.
