Message Boom!
October 11th, 2006
The founders of YouTube have posted a small clip on there site! The video mentions two kingdoms coming together which I thought was kind of funny. Today on the NBC Today show they mentioned the acquisition and then mentioned internet Boom! God please don’t say we are going to have another Internet boom. I don’t think we are even close to a boom. You have to remember that back in the 90’s and now are two totally different markets of the Internet. There are not many similarities between the two and many changes have happened making the two time periods much different. Do you think there is a boom?

There are many similarities between the late 90s and now… there are just as many companies being born, and even quite a few company parties. TWiT.tv has become very popular, rivaling if not exceeding the audience of Tech TV.
However, the MAJOR difference is that the startups of today are not companies, instead they are Web 2.0 operations usually started by a few people in their spare time (perhaps in hopes of being bought out by Google or Yahoo!). Therefore, there isn’t a bubble to burst.
I’m not sure how you are referring to a “boom” in your entry, but we are definitely in the midst of a “boom” in terms of the amount of companies being created. I just don’t think this “boom” is going to dramatically die out.

I agree but disagree. I think companies are more knowledgeable now then in the 90’s making it less likley that there will be a fall out. also look at the major players today and the major players before. there are maybe a dozen big internet comanys that i think stablize the internet

I didn’t say there would be a fallout. I said we’re in the midst of a “boom” in terms of the sheer number of companies being started. But, these companies are a lot different. The rapid creation of companies has to slow down at some point though. Or does it?
