Recall Them All
September 21st, 2006
Looks like recalls are hitting everyone hard. It all started when Dell decided to recall there batteries, then Apple, now Toshiba and Today I saw that Canon has recalled some of there copiers due to a battery connection that may emit smoke and even catch fire. Are these recalls really that necessary? I am thinking that everyone is up in arms and just wants to be on the safe side even if they don’t have a problem. Hell, it doesn’t leave a bad image on the company recalling the product. They just blame it on the company who made that part. With all these recalls I have a feeling that some market shares and earnings will be on the low end this year. Will recalls hurt consumer confidence in purchasing electronics or is this something that will have to deal with in the future. I know I don’t want to deal with it. I would much rather pay more money for something that just works and not have to worry about it blowing up or sending something back for a new part. I bet more recalls will be on there way for consumer products in the near future. I just hope that nothing affects me. What do you think about all these recalls?
