More Kennedy Family Special Treatment

BeerIf you are a Kennedy then do whatever crime you want, because you won’t get charged. Rep. Patrick Kennedy made that statement even more believable after crashing his car into a barricade yesterday on Capital Hill. This is unbelievable! Here is what one officer said happened, “….Kennedy’s Mustang nearly drove head-on into a Capitol Police car. The Mustang’s lights were off and then the car crashed into the barrier….” The Capital Police Officers that stopped him said that he was probably drunk but there supervisors didn’t let the officers proceed with sobriety tests and told Kennedy to leave his car there till the next morning and then the Supervisors drove him home. Here is Kennedy’s Statement (note this is his second statement about 15 or so hours after the incident) about the incident,

“Following the last series of votes on Wednesday evening, I returned to my home on Capitol Hill and took the prescribed amount” of the two medications, the 38-year-old congressman said.”

The medications where Phenergan for gastroenteritis, an inflammation of the stomach and intestines, and Ambien, a sleeping medication.

“Sometime around 2:45 a.m., I drove the few blocks to the Capitol Complex believing I needed to vote,” the statement continued. “Apparently, I was disoriented from the medication. . . . At no time before the incident did I consume any alcohol.”

“At no time did I ask for any special consideration,” the statement said. “I simply complied with what the officers asked me to do.”

I don’t know about you but if any of us normal law abiding citizens where to do what he did we would be in Jail right now. This is not right. Actions should be taken and an investigation should happen.

Lorem Ipsum

Latin I am not nor can I understand it. However, if I was still in 6th grade when it was a required class I might be have been able to understand a word or two. Though let’s jump to the future. Ok now that we made it to the future, let’s talk about Lorem Ipsum. You may have seen it in on websites, prototypes and designs and have wondered what the hell it is.

Well here is a brief description:
Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

And why do we use it?
It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).

Freaking cool where can I get some? Well there is this nice generator that I have found. Its pretty neat. All you have to do is specify if you want paragraphs, words, bytes, or lists and how many and click generate. Wala, you have Lorem Ipsum.

I have used this text for all my prototypes and designs. It really works great and gets the end user going. They have not a freaking clue what it is. Specifically what I like about it is that its real stuff, it’s not a repeat of the same text over and over again. Try using it on your prototypes and designs. I have a feeling you’ll fall in love.
