More on the Ecovillage

So I was shocked to find this damn ecovillage in the heart of hippie country or was I. At first glance Jen and I both agreed that it was a hippie town but one thing about the village made us very confused. Eco or a shorthand for Ecology or Environmental issues would make you think that the whole purpose of this village was to be (or go) green. Meaning to persevere the environment. Well we where confused by why there where so many vehicles. I really wish I brought my camera. There were tons of cars, conversion vans and I bet there were some SUV’s. Why cars in an ecovillage? These are the same people that complain about global warming or are quick to point out the Environmental issues from the use of gas gussling vehicles and they are driving them and living in an ECOVILLAGE! Why? I just don’t understand, can someone explain?
