Web Design Tips That an Author Doesn’t Follow

November 9th, 2005

Swan with No IconSo it is always intresting to read through peoples web design tips and tricks. It seams like everyone wants to be a Jakob Nielsen! It’s very funny becuase I was reading this person’s article called “Pains of Webdesign: Top 10 Pet Peeves” humm…I am not really sure many of these are important other than desinging for multiple browsers but look at number three. This is what he has to say about Favorite Icons,

No Favicon. These are not hard to implement. Make yourself a small picture then go to this page and follow the instructions. It’s that easy, and then I can tell what sites I have open in my 20 tabs.

Then go and look at his page! I currently have 20 tabs open in my browser and humm…..no favicon for him. Word to the wise, If your going to write the “Pains of Webdesign: Top 10 Pet Peeves” you better conform to them!

I have his site open right now and it has a favicon. Sometimes it just takes a little while for it to show.

Useit.com has a favicon. Sometimes they don’t show up right away. But it showed up right away for me. You lose. No digg… I mean, wait…
