Good to be done!

Correct, I am done with school. Yesterday was my graduation. It was a good time. The feeling of graduation really hasn’t set in yet but i think that is because I am already working and have a job. The commencement speaker was good, and the presidents remarks where good too. Overall everything went smoothly. The IT department was kind enough to give us lunch and cake after both parts of the ceremony which was pretty cool. Now that school is done i have more time to concentrate on litlle things like web design, and saving money for a new SUV. The school stress is gone but no I have the stress of everyday stuff. I would much rather have this stress I think. Now its time for some photos. Trust me more to come after everyone gets theres downloaded.

Six Apart Comments on Blogging Software

I just read a pretty good article written about six apart also know as moveabletype. It looks like they are moving in the right direction. But they had some interesting comments in the article

They mentioned WordPress, “Critics of Six Apart say that WordPress, a blog publishing platform developed by a grassroots team, is more robust than Movable Type. WordPress is also open source and free”.

They also mention Google, “For LiveJournal and TypePad, the biggest competition is Google’s Blogger, a highly popular free offering that’s badly in need of some usability improvements and network upgrades”.

I am not sure I can agree with both of these comments. First I think WordPress is the best and I did make the switch from moveabletype to wordpress, and I love it. For the blogger comment, I highly disagree. For the start they have been one of the best and easiest to use. I’m pretty sure six apart will get some flack for this comment.

Home for the Weekend

Home for the weekend to celebrate Jen’s birthday before she goes off to London for school :-( Yesterday I did some yard work here at the house and my alergies are killing me right now. Fortunatly I have some meds. Today me and Jen are going to go to the mall in Syracuse later on in the day. I am so going to get a powerbook. Jen got a 15inch with superdrive this week and i love it. It works so good and the OS rocks my socks.

What’s the deal? It’s been a busy last couple of weeks here with work, school, and traveling home every weekend. Things are going to be settling down soon. School will be done on Monday, that’s when I hand in the final project. Some little things still to do on that but that will be all done on Sunday. Friday I took the day off from work becuase its graduation and my family is coming up. That should be a fun time. Other than that things should be rolling in the next week or so. On the list to do in no particular order are

New Hosting Service

With little delay I am back on the web and liking my new web host. I decided within a day or so where i would be going. And the decision was a good one. I am now hosting on dreamhost.com. It’s by far one of the best hosts through reviews and my little experiance. There web control panel rocks! It is so much better than cpanel, and they give you so much more control of your account. I absolutly love what i am seeing at dreamhost (if you are intrested in dreamhost contact me before buying!). Thanks to Robert (whom i dont know) for posting comments on my blogger site this week. Sooner or later i will have everything up and running! I jsut need to start everything over. I also got a new domain where i will be doing some web work stuff. For the most part kapustabrothers.com will be my personal site and farrelley.com will be more of a business/professional site.
